The pianist Célimène Daudet comes from two cultures, French and Haitian. She is a soloist whose playing and artistic commitment are recognized by the public and the international press. She has performed on different continents including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Konzerthaus in Vienna, Philharmonie de Paris, in China.
Célimène Daudet has made regular appearances in important French venues (Folle journée de Nantes, Printemps des Arts de Monte-Carlo, Piano aux Jacobins, Piano en Valois, Festival de Pâques d’Aix…). She is also a regular guest on radio broadcasts (Radio Classique, France Musique, France Inter, France Culture, Fip) and television.
Her recordings, from Bach to Messiaen (for Arion and for NoMadMusic) are long-considered and unanimously acclaimed by the critics: A tribute to Bach, Bach’s Art of Fugue, Dans la malle du Poilu (works around the Great War), Beethoven’s Sonatas for piano and violin with Amanda Favier, Preludes by Debussy and Messiaen. Her two last CD albums “Messe Noire” , “Haïti mon amour” has been released in 2020 and 2021 for NoMadMusic.
Her repertoire includes also the ‘Premiere’ of several works dedicated to her: most recently Nombres by Benoît Menut, Anima-Alias with live computer and breathing sensor by Jacopo Baboni Schilingi, the concerto for piano and orchestra by Christian Rivet.
She has also collaborated for several years with the choreographer Yoann Bourgeois, with whom she has performed Bach’s The Art of Fugue more than a hundred times on stage. In October 2021 they have created new Duo project « L’homme est un point perdu entre deux infinis » at Philharmonie de Paris.
Célimène is the founder of the Haiti Piano Project launched in 2017 with the goal of bringing a grand piano to Haiti and creating the first International Piano Festival. This project has been widely covered by the press throughout the world.
Trained at the CNSMD in Lyon and Paris, then at the Banff Centre in Canada, she was awarded several times, among wich, the International Pro Musicis Prize, the Jean Françaix piano prize and was named Artist Generation Spedidam. She has received the support of the Safran Foundation for Music and her career has been rewarded with the Senate medal. She has also been named as a “Young Leader” since 2018.
She regularly participates in academies and masterclasses with renowned pianists and teachers such as Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden, Philippe Cassard, and Bernard d'Ascoli within the Piano Cantabile association. She is laureate of the 2018 Île-de-France international competition and the 2024 Virtuoses du Coeur competition, and regularly performs in solo or chamber music concerts at festivals in France and abroad. In 2023, she performed in Poland and Moldova with orchestra in Mozart and Poulenc's two-piano concertos, and in 2024, she gave a solo recital at the Cortot Hall. She is supported by the Kriegelstein Fund for the 2024/2025 academic year.
